It's recognizing that the dark wolf is a part of you that needs healing. By recognizing it, acknowledging how it affects how you treat others and yourself, you begin to own it rather than letting it own you. Then your wounds become your strength, and you're much more compassionate and humble towards others whose wolves are starving.
